The US pop singer Janet Jackson and rockers Metallica are set to perform in Abu Dhabi next month, local daily Gulf News reported on Tuesday.
The six time Grammy Award-winner Jackson will play at Yas Arena on October 13, while Metallica will perform at the same venue on October 25 as part of the Yas Island Show Weekend series, the report said.
Jackson will only perform music exclusively from her chart-topping album Number Ones.
"These concerts will be different from anything I have ever done. I will be as up close and personal as possible. These concerts are not about special effects. The music will all be songs that you’ve made number one for me," the daily quoted the pop singer as saying.
Tickets for the Jackson concert, priced Dhs 265, Dhs 365 and Dhs 665, are available at thinkflash.ae. Metallica tickets are expected to go on sale in the coming weeks, the report added.
Yas Island Show Weekends have entertained more than 150,000 spectators, with acts including Nelly Furtado, Guns N’ Roses, The Jonas Brothers and Stevie Wonder.
