The Constant

Short Lost post today, but I was mulling this in my head. In the episode "Happily Ever After," which was awesome, by the way, there was a glazed look Desmond got at the end. He completely changed his demeanor towards Charles Widmore, accepting everything the old geezer said (and robbing us of a chance to figure out what the hell is going on!).

When Zoe is leading him into the jungle, before Sayid went commando on Widmore's goon squad, she asked him if he was OK, and what was with the change of heart in 20 minutes. Knowing what we know about Desmond and his ability to leap timelines, could the Desmond who is now on the Island be the one that was in the alternate reality in the beginning of the episode? That is, the two Desmonds switched realities, which I think would explain the change in demeanor in both.

This could be conceivable because, at the time of the switch, they were both unconscious.

Your thoughts, bruthas.

  1. Desmond for Jacob! Vote for Desmond!

I think he will be Jacob since he can jump back and forth between dimensions, or is it time lines, or spacetime, i dont know, whatever it is he can do, he can do it. And i have no idea what happened when he started agreeing with everybody. i just thought he actually is agreeing becuz he was convinced haha

  2. LOVED the episode! Desmond is awesome, and I dunno if he is the same person, but I think he is now, finally, well aware of what is going on! On another note, I'm dying to know what he will show them!!!!

  4. Desmond is boring? The key to the whole show, the guy with the potential to change everything about the show is boring?

I think you hate Lost. Stick to FlashForward.

  5. Mahmoud,

Watch the Constant again for proof of Desmond's abilities. The rules don't apply to that man. He's like Messi.
